We are pleased to announce that the research project ProFlexGrid – Probabilistic Flexibility Optimization in Controllable Low-Voltage Grids through Sector Coupling has been approved for funding by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). Within ProFlexGrid, researchers from academia and industry will develop new methods for the probabilistic and predictive operation of sector-coupled low-voltage grids. The project combines detailed power system simulation, mobility and heat demand modeling, and advanced optimization techniques to exploit flexibility from the electricity, heating, and mobility sectors in a coordinated manner. Dr. Kevin-Martin Aigner from our Department will lead the research on robust and stochastic optimization.
